"I have a 2000 DT85 with a busted trim solenoid and the motor stuck in the down position. I tried to back off the (rusty) screw to release the fluid in the hydraulics, and it turned 4-5 times counter-clockwise (as indicated on the diagram) and will go no further - and the motor's still frozen in the down spot. Screw is soft and close to stripping. I've backed off these screws on other motors and the outboard sags and you can push it up and lock it in. Not sure why it's not working here.I just need to trim the motor up so I can tow it to the shop. Any ideas? Am I missing a step?"
