im swaping engines the 3.8 is toast and i came across this 4.3 without heat exchanger

If the coupler fits the flywheel no problem. or if you can get the flywheel and coupler of the 3.8 to fit the 4.3.

Heat exchanger is not the issue.

Just be carefull that flywheel ballance is same for 3.8 as for the 4.3. I don't think it is, from what I have been reading. Bolt pattern may be different also, since none of the stuff I have read says one flywheel fits both.

you might, thats a big " MIGHT " be alright if it's a before 89' block that 4.3.

has to be a 1985 or 1986 4.3.
In 87 they changed the crank flange.
