Quick Question

I have a 1978 150Hp Evinrude Outboard and I am replacing the lower assembly oil line fitting on the power tilt and trim as the old one went bad and I've been at it for an hour or so and no matter what I try it still continues to leak. I made sure the O rings were good also. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks.

If the correct o-rings are being used, my assumption would be possible damage to the o-ring seat. Nothing is preventing the nuts from going all the way in, right? No damage or defect in the oil line end, right?

Should the bolts go all the way in or should they just be snug I can't figure that out either? Maybe that is my problem.

Get new O-rings and try again you should be able to match some up at your local hardware. Make sure they are the nitrile type rubber.

i'm using the O-rings off of the old one would not be my problem? They looked OK.
