Hello,
I live in Ontario, Canada. I have a 2019 Yammy 70.
One reason I have an outboard is that I use the boat and motor when temperatures are freezing. As the motor drains every time I turn it off, there is no fear of the block freezing.
OK. But can I tilt the motor up and out of the water in the freezing temps, after stopping the motor and tying up?
How long does it take for the block to fully drain?
If I tilt the motor up might I be trapping water somewhere, where it might freeze?
Is it ok if water freezes in the open prop cavity?
By mistake I did this, and all seemed well with the motor, but Id like any definitive comments you might have.
My desire to tilt the motor up is to keep it algae free, but its not essential.
Thank You!
