Question for Joe or Sparky on 135 HP Evinrude

It is a hydro-mechanical gearcase, shifts into reverse but will not shift out unless engine is shut off. Will not shift into foward at all. Any help to steer me in the right direction to trouble shoot would be great! Linkage works fine.

Sounds like the unit will hav

Sounds like the unit will have to come apart.Remove the shift servo and inspect the tube that has a tab at 45 Degrees . The tab slides in a groove that moves the clutch dog. What is your location?

The prop shaft will have to b

The prop shaft will have to be removed in order to remove the servo assembly. The bore of the pump (aluminum ) may be damaged and may be causing the shift pin to bind. I am 2 hrs north off PORT HURON on the CANADIAN side of the lake.
