"i put my boat in the water today and i went to get on the throttle and it wouldnt pass the idle spped i would try to get on it and it would want to die so i was wondering if it could be that the carbs need cleaning cause when i got on the gass i had my friend sprayy some starter fluid in the carbs and i got it going for like 5 min then it did again thanks for any help, matt"

yea i cleaned my carbs and i

yea i cleaned my carbs and i got a carb kit just waiting for a good day and im gonna get a compression gauge to make sure the motor isnt shot thank you
 
Be sure to manually clean the

Be sure to manually clean the high speed jets if your carbs incorporate fixed jets. You didn't mention just what engine you have.
