plugs and coil numbers

Was hoping someone out there would be able to tell me which is plug #1 and which coil goes to it and plug #2 and the coil and so forth. We have a 140hp evinrude sport v4. I've spent the last 2 nights trying to figure the year from the model # and I think it is a 1981. Thanks
 
Top coil goes to the top cylinder.-------------Orange wire / blue stripe goes to the top coil.----What are the running issues with the motor ?

Think I've got a wire crossed as it will not run and back fires. Plug wires are crossed on the left hand side and the wires run straight across to the plugs on the right. have to check the colors of the wires in the morning.
 
What is the model number of that engine?

Standing in back of the engine, facing the spark plugs, the cylinders are numbered as follows.

2.....1

4.....3

The Orange/Blue wire leading from the powerpack(s) would always connect to the top cylinder.
