" I have a 1997 225 Mercury Carb. The water is streaming out fine at idle, but the engine temp slowly rises after about 5 minutes, and sets the buzzer off. Is this a thermostat problem?

If it is, Do anyone know where it is and how to replace it?

I am not a Merc guy but my friends love them and insist the newer ones are "bulletproof". My friend had a similar situation and it wound up being the oil injection. No oil, no lube....overheat. Id consider that as a source. It turned out that he was able to correct it without any costly repairs. I guess they may be "bulletproof". "
