Outboard controls and gauges compatibility

I have an opportunity to get a free boat with a blown 1993 evenrude 200 ve200txeft. Boat is in great shape so it would be worth repowering. Ive found an 1996 evenrude ocean pro 200 that runs good with good compression. I was just wondering if the controls and gauges would be compatable so i wouldnt have to swap them out. Thanks

I made a swap last year, went from ocean runner 225 to ocean pro 225 controls worked fine.

You may find that the 96 model has different cable plug in / connectors.-----See you local friendly , helpful dealer for an adapter cable.

Racerone I went back and looked at my parts list and you are right. I did have to change the connector. Man you guys are on top of your game.
