Original Prestolite CD65 Pulse Pack for 1967 100 hp and 1969 - 1970 115 hp

Hello and Happy Holidays : I am looking for an original pulse pack for a 1967 100 hp Evinrude/Johnson which was the Prestolite CD65 pack . The reason for this is that it will only work the tachometer for these engines. Also looking for an original Prestolite CD65 pack for a 1969-70 Evinrude/Johnson 115 hp. This is for restoration purposes .

Either NOS or good used will work. Thx Peter-

Peter... I feel sure that you're aware that both the 1967 100hp pack #381884 and the 1969/70 115hp pack #383298 supersede up to the universal powerpack kit #398362, which is apparently still available.

I have installed a few of these replacement pack kits in the past (retired in 1991) but don't recall encountering a problem in having the tachometer to function. Could you elaborate on that for me? (Joe)

Hi Joe: The 67 100 had a specific tachometer which got it pulse from the positive side of the coil. The CD65 pack was positive pulse. The next generation pack Phase 2 was negative pulse which would not work with the tach. It wasn't till 68 that a wiring change could be made with the alternator pulse tach .

Just buy new kit and account for whatever pulse rate you require.

Its 2016 coming and we can now do whatever we like with some reverse ingenuity ( i.e. invert the pulse with a simple part).
