On board computer

I have a 2003 OX66 Salt Water series outboard. I was fishing in Cape Cod bay and the oil sense alarm went off. I was perplexed because I had just filled the onboard oil tank before we put in. It turns out that the on-board computer isn't sending the signal to oil tank to pump the oil to the on-board reservoir. I took the boat to my service center and, after a long discussion with a RTI, the tech told me that the on-board computer is bad and needs replaced. The part costs $2,047.00. Does anyone know if I can buy one that has been refurbished or whether there is another company that makes that part?

TIA

Greg

If that part is what you need I can get it to you for 1525.00, Maybe your dealer should recheck his price. List is 1677.00

There are A LOT of things that can keep your oil tank from transferring oil. The ECM is the last thing I would suspect unless all the other diagnostics have been exhausted. There is a diagnostic flow chart for this procedure. I'll send you that tomorrow.
