"is it possible to change outdrives from OMC to PENTA by altering the transom cut-out. I'm planning to repower a boat that has a chevy v8 and OMC , with a Volvo aq140-270. Is the 270 housing larger than the OMC.?}"

"nothing larger than OMC stringer cutout. But an OMC Cobra is smaller than Volvo 270 so if you have Cobra you're plan should be good except for the huge reduction in power...and if there's no power trim on your 270 it might make for a pretty miserable holeshot.... The centerline of the engine's crank is the centre of the driveshaft of the upper so if you set the engine in the hull, you can see where things need to be..."
