OMC ignition coil compatibility

Can the 502888/18-5192 coil from the larger engines be used in place of the 502890/18-5194 coil for the 50-135hp? I have a 50ES72C. I have a bunch of the larger ones.
 
Well, it does start and run with the other one. Only physical difference appears to be that the primary and secondary wires are a bit longer.
