"I am ready to run my engine after totally draining the engine cooling system and also fitting new manifolds, impeller, gimble bearing etc etc.My question is, should I pre fill the engine from mayby the thermostat housing prior to starting first time or will the pump in the leg get the coolant round OK on its own with the muffs on. It might sound a silly question but I dont want to cook the engine first run."
 
muffs will be fine - what you

muffs will be fine - what you can do is loosen the clamp on the hose supplying the thermostat housing from the drive and make sure you get water out there withing the first few seconds of running it - lets you know the impeller is doing its thing.
