oil slinger on 1972 Merc 650 4 cly lower unit

Hi,
Can anyone tell me the correct orientation of the lower unit drive shaft lubrication slinger. This slinger(spiral tube) sits in the lower unit just below the upper drive shaft bearing and just above the drive shaft needle bearing The lubrication sleeve has a notch at the top and oil hole at the bottom on the side. The notch and hole are in line. I took this oil sleeve out to replace the needle bearing and do not remember the orientation of the notch and hole in the slinger to the bore it goes into.

Any pictures out there that shows the orientation or previous experience and can tell me how to index this oil slinger in the bore.

I do not believe that the 1972 model 650 was a 4 cylinder.----In 1972 they came out with the less than popular 3 cylinder 650.-----Your serial # is ?

Hi, you are correct. I was wrong. It is a 1971. Serial number 3151737.
