I have an 18hp evinrude outboa

I have an 18hp evinrude outboard. I dont know the year but I do know that its at least 20 years old. Should I try a 26:1 ratio.

"Try the 26:1, that way you know for sure you will not damage the motor. It make smoke somewhat but until you find out exactly what year you have you will be safe. There are others on this board who are more qualified to give you the right answer but for the time being and if you want to use the motor it's a sure thing."

I have a 1985 Sea King 15hp outboard. Can you tell me the fuel mixture ratio and what type of 2 cycle oil is best. I have some TCW3

Sounds like it should be 50:1. Over oiling in newer engines [post late 60's] will adversly affect performance and foul spark plugs. Not to mention cost to ecology & wallet..."
