If I am going to completly rebuild a 1997 Evinrude Vindicator. Is the seloc manual good enough or should I pay the extra money and get the OEM Evinrude Service manual.

pay the extra money, the Johnson Evinrude is far more detailed with pictures and color diagrams for that motor.

So you want to save a few dollars rebuilding an " expensive motor "---------Why ???------------------After market manuals are known to have mistakes in them.-----------If you are not aware of the fact that there is a mistake , then you may do something wrong !

I'm working on a 1960 40hp from the Seloc manual and I'm making decent progress. The only thing that I don't like is the pictures aren't very clear, and there is a ton of information in the manual that I have to weed through before I find what I need for my specific model/year. If I had to do it again I don't think I would buy the Seloc manual again.
