2001 200SX. Pulled cover to winterize. Both on the oil pump and on the cowl beneath it was a yellow substance. Best I can compare it to is what fuel varnish looks like in a carb float bowl.

The stuff would not rub off with a rag. Got it to soften with brake clean and the residual fluid ran down the leg staining the paint.

I cleaned off the paint and it was instantly stained even though I cleaned it before it had a chance to dry. Needed acetone and rubbing compound just to get the stains out.

Cleaned up everything and ran it on the hose for an hour with no leaks anywhere. I’m crazy nuts with maintenance and know for sure whatever this stuff was was not there last time I had cowl off I’m august.

Stumped. Thought the oil pump may have a leak but this is definitely not 2 stroke oil. Thought maybe a fuel line leaking above the pump but that’s not it either. Everything fuel related is dry. No running problems either. any thoughts?
