Not getting enough gasoline

"i have a 1985 mercury 7.5 hsp outboard motor that i took out last weekend,the problem i'm havibg is when you pump up the primer bulb it doesn't get hard,the motor runs until it runs out of gas and stops ,i disconnect the fuel supply line from the motor and you can pump up the primer bulb till it gets hard,what could be the problem ? thanks and have a nice day..."
 
Are all fuel supply connection

Are all fuel supply connections sealing well?
Is the fuel pump good?
Does motor run when priming the bulb?
Bulb could have a bad valve?
Air vent on tank open?

Check these first.

"Check the fuel connection at the motor itself, plus the gas line to the fuel filter (if equipped) and then the gas line going to the carb.

Sounds like something is letting in air and if you say the tank/hose are fine on another motor, then "this" motor itself must be the problem.

Take the hood off, connect the gas line and start pumping the bulb - if something is leaking you should be able to see it quite easily..."
