No engine power or tilt or trim

I have a mercury outboard (0A157010) that I just put back on the boat after transom repair. After hooking things up I hit the trim up button to raise the motor. But when i tried to do lower it, it wouldnt work. Now it wont go up or down and engine wont turn over. I re checked all the wires and one wire was connected wrong accidentally. I believe it is the wire on the solenoid for the trim. I checked the fuse with a volt meter and it has 12v. I jumped the motor and it turns over and I jumped the trim and it moved. Any help is greatly appreciated
 
Lets start with getting the engine to crank! Battery MUST have a full charge! Terminals MUST be clean and tight! Big red cable on starter MUST have batt. voltage when triggered! Starter Housing MUST be grounded to batt (-) What is missing?
 
With a test lite... check for voltage at the starter solenoid (small red) when triggered from switch! If nothing... check fuses, must have power going into switch!
