No Buzzer

I Don't get a Buzzer with key on and Lanyard pulled on my Yamaha, but it does kill the motor? Any idea's or how to check buzzer???

Apply 12 volts to it, Try grounding sensor wire to ground,can be found on top of cylinder head,usually a tan wire
