I finally have my NS30A3 fired up and running. Got it for cheap from a old co-worker several years ago. I did a little carb clean up and replaced the pull cord. The thing now starts easily and should be good to go, except it apparently needs a new water pump impeller. Nissan/Tohatsu parts are extremely scarce in my area. A while ago I remembered reading on some thread in some forum that some Nissan and Mercury lower units are the same and I remember something about my motor being similar to a later Maercury. So my question is, is there any parts interchangeability between these and if so, then would I be able to use a Merc impeller in my Nissan. I have no way to compare the two impellers as I don't have a Merc part number to ask for.so I could look at it.
