newbie need help 1990 60hp evinrude 20"? on ranger

my cousin just gave me his ranger bass boat that i am assuming is around an 89-90. The Engine on it is a 1990 610? 60 HP outboard. it has been sitting for 2 years and right now im doing a lot of cleaning, it was filthy if i can i will post pictures. but any advice on that type of boat and motor would be greatly appreciated. i have in the past worked on outboard motors, but the most recent year one i worked on was a '69 evinrude lol. i cant figure out how to add attachments but i will soon

Basically what I’m asking is where do I start to check everything in the motor and see what needs to be replaced and or fixed.

Start with a compression test , post your numbers.------motor is not big enuff.</p>

What pitch is the prop on this motor ?----Is it 13" or even 11" pitch ?
