Need some help inboard motor sounds like its skipping gears

Hi everyone,

I am having issues with my inboard motor. It starts fine in idle it runs. Low speed it performs fine but as soon as I go into planing there is a slip sound and it goes back to idle. Changed fuel, checked the linkages, fuel filter changed, fuel seperater changed too. It sounds like a spin off and I do not know what else to check. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you checked the fiction screw on the throttle lever for enough tension...??? I'm interpreting you post to say there is no issue with the throttle linkage and no issue with the gear linkage....

how long have you had the boat?
