Need help troubleshooting 2001 Johnson 115 quick start / stall issue

Hi everyone,
I can't figure out why my 2001 Johnson 115hp 60 V4 looper stalls when it gets out of quickstart mode.
When cold, I start it easily and it warms up for about 2 minutes and then starts slowing down and stalls. I already checked the temp switch which does close around 100F and grounds the white/black wire from the powerpack. So everything actually works very well on that side as it should. I just don't understand why the engine stalls when the powerpack does what it is supposed to do (disengages quickstart when engine is warm enough).
If I unplug the temp switch, the engine keeps idling perfectly at around 800 rpm and as soon as I either ground the white/black wire (temp switch wire from powerpack) or plug it back (same as grounding when above 100F), the motor dies within 5 sec.
When the engine is warm, it still starts perfectly (thanks to quickstart for the first 5 sec) then dies quickly as the temp switch is already over 100F and so is grounded.
Any suggestion would be very much appreciated.
Thank you in advance
