Need help identifying the year of a 9.8 hp Murcury 110

It has thin red line decals. On the skirt where the 9.8 hp is at it has the # 2 on it as well. Any info would be great. The badge on the front of it also has THUNDERBOLT ignition.

Is there a ID plate on the side of the swivel bracket?

I haven’t been able to locate one or where one was had been.

Thin strip on faceplate make it '71,that is if it hasn't been changed at any time.So what I'm saying is as long as it is an all original motor then it is '71,the decals were blue from '72 - '82.

Thank you sir for the help. I was told it was a '81 but I didn't think it was.

Would you know where the freeze plug is located on this motor?
