"Hi I just Bought a 1987 9.9 and the shift cable houseing is broke. the whole control unit is not in very good shape.the one i have now is a 2 lever ,one for shifting and 1 for throttel. can i get a newer single lever control or do i have to use a 2 lever? any info as to what type or style i need would be of great help thanks"

yes i know they would have mor

yes i know they would have more then i need. all i would use is the key and the lever. but will a singel lever one work on it?shift to reverse and give throtle when pulled back and shift to forward and have throtle when pushed forward?
if so is there a type or style of cable i must use ? i much prefer single lever then the 2
