Mixing Honda 150Hp with Mercury 150hp

May be a weight difference, torque/hp curve different , but with the throttle increased/cut back, same prop, you should be able to level out the rpm to run them as equals.
 
Thanks for reply. I suppose if the newer engine puts more RPM on the prop, without compensating for it would make me go in circles I suppose.
 
Personally I’d prefer two identical engines purely based on maintenance. Troubleshooting you would be able to swap parts, only buying parts from one manufacturer, spare parts would be interchangeable.
