Mind of its own?

I bought a new Terrova this spring and it has been nothing but trouble. Will fish fine for about 30 minutes and then just goes nuts and only wants to turn right. Motor spins to the right wrapping the cord around the shift until it can't go any further. I can stop the spinning by standing on the left turn button on the foot pedal but if I let off it starts spinning again. Is this a short in the pedal?

Yeah, I've just been hoping for a quick fix so I could continue fishing. We are right in the best time of the year for white bass fishing here. But, you're right. I will contact them.
