Mercury Dual Binnacle Swap?

My 1999 dual mercury binnacle is poorly pitted. It came that way when I bought the boat this year. I was going to just replace the cover and the control arms and be done with it.

Then I found a 2006 Mercury dual binnacle for sale, it's a little different from mine. It seems like it's just an updated version of the one I have.

My question is this, does anyone know if this is a direct swap? How much work is involved in replacing a 1999 mercury binnacle with a 2006 mercury binnacle?

Is it even possible?
