Mercury Classic 50 VS Mercury 50

What is the difference between these two, taking into account the two I am referring to are both from the mid 80's? Carbeuration?

Thanks. Thought I heard at one time that HP was rated at the crank, then later rated at the prop. So my 50 really only puts out 45. Saw a great Classic online for sale, and was just wondering if all the parts were the same.
