I have a 2012 8hp 4 stroke on my Tracker 1542. It's a great little motor but it's a little underpowered for my boat, so I was looking to upgrade the motor this year. Then I came across a forum that said the newer 8 and 9.9hp's can be upgraded to a 15hp by changing out the carb. Is this true? I've read conflicting opinions about it. It would be a heck of a lot cheaper and it looks like a pretty simple swap. Even if it didn't give me 15hp, I'd be happy with a boost.
