Mercury 75 7.5 Hp Pull cord

Whoa! Before subjecting yourself to that misery, try this: Pull out a foot of cord and grip the drum with your hand to keep it out. Next, push some slack cord back in until you can grab it. Finally, jam the cord between the drum and frame and wind on one more turn(in a CW direction looking at the recoil upside down). That adds a bit more spring which overcomes the friction.

Works for me.

Thanks for the help. But I don't quite understand. Do you take the Flywheel off to do this or cany ou do it without taking anything apart
.

Just take the recoil assembly off. The goal is to wind another turn on the drum and spring so it recoils properly.
