Hi all, I put my boat in the water for the first time in a while today, and she started first go (as expected) however after running for approx. 10 mins, when I went to put into neutral, it was revving like it was about to blow up. If I put back into gear, it went back to wear it should have been revving. It made it interesting coming back to the ramp....... Any suggestions why this would be?????
 
The shift cable is out of adjustment. Not pushing the lever on the motor far enough to engage reverse. Lengthen it a bit.

Thanks Jeff. Will give it a shot. Another source advised the control box for these engines have a reputation for wearing and that this would probably need fixing. In any case - BOAT = Bring Out Another Thousand ;)
