Hey all, this motor parts listing is confusing so has anyone seen this?

1. Looking for head gasket, and parts lists shows piece #2 as;

2 GASKET *{SN# ME-6042945/MA-6038680 Below}*
pn 795831

2 GASKET *{SN# ME-6042946/MA-6038681 Up}*
pn 96281T01

How does this engine model# of 1150725 fit between any of these part# descriptions?
What am I missing lol?

According to one site it's a Mark 75A Serial numbers 1110600 thru the 1210000 area were 1959 models. No head gasket just water jacket cover.

I called Mercury and got it figured out....what a mess and I'll explain.
1. The Merc parts catalog doesn't work right on the phone! The functions don't all work. For instance, trying to lookup engine with serial # 0A129835 has 0 results. However, using model # of 1150725 works...Great job Mercury lol

2. Since this is a 1985 engine, older serial number ranges, in order to find engine you have to put a 0A in front of the serial# (which isn't even on the engine)! Then it will find the engine correctly and then you pick which engine you have.

3. Now the pn issue. That ME in the part description just means it's a Mercury engine yet NO WHERE does it tell you this..Again, great job Mercury.
So looking at piece 2, the comments show it's for models; ME-6042945/MA-6038680 (this is where I got confused)
Since now the serial # is 0A129835 it is before the MA-6038680, and you just ignore the M! wow

How confusing! Never ever been a fan of anything Mercury!

Since Serial #129835 is now 0A129835, it is past the 6038681 (you just ignore the M). You have to remember that Merc went from 7 numbers to what many now see are like 0A129835. Eight numbers/letters.

Merc 200: Is that a 20 hp or a 200 hp?

Merc 200 has always been a 20 HP...a 200HP will usually have a V in front of it...
