merc stator

Hi, Working on project motor. Should a stator off of a 1971 Kiekhaefer 7.5 hp have continuity between the two wires coming out of it ?

Green to salmon is no continuity in one direction and 20-50 when you reverse leads at Rx1000 from green to ground no continuity in both directions.

I should have mentioned, I haven't had the motor running as of now.
