Ton mercury 60 hp

Hi, i am confused and hope somebody can help me out. My battery is no longer charging. A friend did the readings and our conclusion is that the voltage regulator is not working properly anymore. We dismantled it and number showing on the regulator is 8M0006034 2696. Can somebody say what the number is of the replacement part please. Are there more possibilities then one? Appreciate the help!
