Lubricating power trim unit

Hello,
I have a 2006 Yamaha F150 and I will be doing the maintenance on it this fall. What I want to know is do you need to lubricate the tilt and trim rods on the power trim unit? The manual does not list these parts as needing lubrication. I have always felt that anything that is metal and moves should have lubrication but it looks to me as if I were to put grease on these rods they would become dirt magnets. What do you think?

nothing just grease on the ends
trim all the way down with the motor on the tilt lock

I spray my rams with silicone. My motor is 12 years old and no problems. The silicone is good for the rubber seals.
