Low engine oil pressure alarm

[FONT=&quot] My 2009 Mercury 40 HP 4 stroke 3 cyl EFI let out one long beep and shut down engine to guardian mode. [/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]I shut down and restarted again and it ran fine wot back to shore. I pulled the code from Vessel view and it was a low oil pressure alarm.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Oil & filter have less than 50 hours on it, oil level is full. [/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]What should I be looking at? bad oil pressure sensor? anyone with similiar problem.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]I am a bit hesitant to head out again.

Which repair manual would you recomend I purchase, if I need to change out the oil pressure switch.[/FONT]

I recommend you find the oil pressure sender, remove it, put in a mechanical test gauge and check the oil pressure when the engine is hot.

This will tell you what you are looking at, a bad sender or actual low oil pressure. Make sure the oil does not smell like gasoline.

Thanks, no gas in the oil. When I get the repair manual I will pull the oil sender.
