Looking for the placement of the pressure valve on a '76 evinrude 85693

Need to know where to place the pressure valve on a 76 evinrude 85. Does it go in the thermo housing above the vernatherm? Or the other side of the thermo plate above the vernatherm valve? Thanks in advanced....
