I picked up a BJ4RDCOB for nothing, locally. I know nothing about outboards but I'm pretty well versed with small 2 stroke engines.
The motor has compression (showing 90psi on each cylinder) and spark which is promising!
The only thing that seems to be obviously faulty is the twist grip. There's a metal pin that appears that it should slide back and forth but I'm missing the helix that converts the twisting into back and forth.
Does anyone know where I can get the part? Ideally cheaply. Do people break these motors often? Or are they interchangeable?
Then I guess it's a change of impellor, gear oil and see if it starts!
