Leaking rubber exhaust tubes

Replaced the rubber exhaust tubes, the ones from the exhaust elbow to the muffler.
Even though I’ve tightened, they still leak.
With more tightening I may end up damaging the muffler.
I’m thinking there might some “Mechanic Trick” to get these to seal without cranking them down?

Did you use soft wall exhaust hose, or the wire re-enforced hose?

Try switching to T-Bolt band clamps.... but these must be correct for the hose OD.

.

Did you remove the reinforcing wire from the ends or leave it as is, once cut?
Correct, just cut them to length....Maybe turn them to where the wires are in the middle?

if you cant get them to seal with the wire still in, you may have to pull about 15" of the reinforcing wire helix out, cut it off, and try again...new hose should seal just fine with a t-bolt clamp and a clean tube going to the muffler...without seeing exactly what you got, its just a best guess based on past experience...
