Johsnon Model not showing

i have a johnson with plate 70ETL78C that does not register as a legitimate model number.....
It has a cracked gearbox that i am looking to replace with an envinrude E70TLCNB. Will the Envirude gearbox be suitable?

forgot to mention that i did look at the part numbers on marineengine.com for the casing and the drive shafts on the evirude and on the nearest i could find for a johnson model (70EL78C) and they were different for both parts.
