" I recently acquired a 17 foot boat with an older Johnson 70hp. The steering cable is frozen in the steering tube ( I think it's called), and will definetly not move. How could I remedy this problem. Thank you much.. "

" Definitely replace it! Not only frustration, but it can be dangerous to boot! Your steering is your lifeline. If it locks up or breaks while underway, you could be in deep doo-doo...
Not a big deal to replace, and not terribly expensive. I replaced the one in my boat last summer for about $150.00 and an afternoon's work.
