Johnson reverse gears

Hi - Can anyone tell me the difference in two different reverse?
Both are shown and listed for lower unit 1983 35 hp model j35elcts.
0322080 (14:27) and 0325360.
Can either be used?
What is the difference in performance?
What was the default used originally?
Can I tell from serial # which one is in my lower unit?

There can be no difference in " performance " -gear ratio for both must be the same.
