"Hi, I am looking at a boat (2 hours away) that has a 25 hp Johnson. The cowling has an orange strip and then a dark green or brown bottom. Below the cowling or cover is a olive green. They are saying the motor is a 1985. I thought motors in that year wear the all white with some decals.

Anyone know the last year for the orange and brown colors on the side? The front shows white with an orange and brown strip.

"The engine should have a smal

"The engine should have a small plate attached to the port (left) transom bracket that would have the model and serial number, and also a core plug on the powerhead with those same numbers.

The model number would identify the engine. Phone the selling party and ask for the model number. We can then pinpoint exactly what that engine is."
