Any idea what's going on with the bearing situation?

Do the 3 cylinder gearcases have the same bearing caps and different bearings?

The guy at seaway was stumped as well. His parts diagrams say that the bearings should match.

So my modified outer bearing race fit nicely into the 1987 casing. And for whatever reason, that gear case has the same vertical dimensions as my 1982 (the 1990 was shorter so a fully tightened bearing cap compressed the upper driveshaft bearing and it all locked up) so it's all built up to the bearing cap. Unfortunately i must have dropped one of the rollers for the bearing, so I'm one roller short ��
