Hi everyone,
I'm in the process of helping my buddy service his Johnson JHL-23A 1968 3HP outboard, and we got a bit stuck on replacing the stripped flywheel holding nut. All the measurements I did on the old nut and thread point me to a 7/16" UNF nut, but new ones don't fit nicely, and although the old nut is stripped to a degree and the crankshaft thread is a bit damaged as well, the old nut does fit (duh) and you get that sense of a matching thread, which I don't get with the replacement 7/16" UNF nut I bought. I'm a bit short on imperial tools, being we're in Europia. Can anyone confirm the flywheel thread/nut specs for this motor, before I start recutting it to something it might not be?
