I am currently experiencing an error "rudder cylinder control pre-failure SPN: 522016 FMI: 7 DTC: P1825" on the stbd side of my JC10 unit. The manual doesn't have much information regarding all the possible causes of the error. Anybody know a more detailed description of the possible causes so I have a better idea of inspections to make. I have tried replacing the EDV Harness, Solenoids, Steering Oil and Rudder Angle Sensor. Any help and information would be greatly appreciated.
It is the JC10 system attached to the 8LV370 Main Propulsion.
First it was a failure on port steering stating CAN COM ERROR EPV-DRIVER TO DRIVE-ECU. I found corroded connections on the PORT harness. After fixing this problem and port now running 100% I have been getting the pre-failure alarm I mentioned on the stbd side. Running the tender - both sides appear to be running correctly and steering in time with each other. Looking at the JC10 manual it isn’t very specific what is linked to the pre-failure alarm.
