ISO Mercury/Starcraft tach with 4 pin plug

Hello- I have 2005 Starcraft pontoon with a 75 four stroke and tach does not work. it is a faria with a 4 pin plug socket. I have 12 volts and a signal from the motor, so I believe the gauge itself is bad. my problem is finding a tach with the plug socket on the back. The plug from the harness under the dash is very short and interwoven tightly with the rest of dash wiring, and would be very difficult to splice wires from it. The faria gauge label is not readable. Is anyone familiar with the 4 pin plug from either mercury or starcraft, or have any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!
